Our Mission

Compass Behavioral Health Care promotes recovery and wellness for individuals and families with addictions and related mental illness. We do this by providing a full continuum of addiction prevention, education, and treatment programs and services for every: children, youth, adults and families. 

Compass’s primary objectives are:

  • Provide access to high-quality treatment for alcohol and drug abuse
  • Prevent addiction in children and adolescents
  • Educate the general public about addictive diseases and their impact on our community, as well as advocate for increased access to services for all people in need of treatment.

Compass Behavioral Health Care is committed to providing the highest quality of service by using evidence-based practices and regularly measuring and improving performance outcomes.  We support the empowerment of all persons with behavioral health issues, and believe that all clients, employees and stakeholders must be treated with dignity and respect. We practice diversity and cultural competence in all activities and partnerships. We believe that addiction to alcohol and other drugs is a medically-based disease that is both preventable and treatable.

Recent accomplishments include:

  • National recognition from the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence
  • Recognition from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
  • The Governor’s Award of Excellence for the Genesis Project at the Pima County Jail
  • Accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)
  • Distinguished Service Award (for the Vida Nueva housing project) from the President‘s Office of National Drug Control Policy
  • Expansion of services to include Arizona’s Tribal Nations
  • The CARF Exemplary Status Recognition of CHC’s Cultural Programming and the Desert Hope Detox Center
  • The Center of Excellence award for its partnership with La Frontera Center and for the provision of methamphetamine treatment
